With our 50% Summer Sale still on, we thought it was an ideal time to share some of our recent press reviews - just in case you needed a little more persuasion to give your music production a fresh injection of sample inspiration!
Classic Deep House is a royalty-free loops and sample pack that harks back to the golden era of mid 90s deep house. Mainly focussed on east coast US flavours, it’s a varied sound library that will give you an authentic deep house vibe. And don’t take our word for it, Computer Music summed it up perfectly, “the producers have successfully caught the vibe of 80s/90s house without straying into cliche or pastiche. 9/10”.

“A vast collection of retro house samples - 682 loops, 376 one-shots, 1.3GB - taking in the gamut of track elements, from drums, basses and synth leads to strings, pads and chord shots. Surprisingly, there are only 22 stemmed drum loops, but the other folders are rammed, and every melodic loop is accompanied by its triggering MIDI file. Instrumentation takes in the Roland TR-707, TR-909 and SH-101, Akai MPC, Korg M1 and Yamaha DX7, and the producers have successfully caught the vibe of 80s/90s house without straying into cliche or pastiche.”
Computer Music Magazine Verdict: 9/10
Keeping with the retro theme - albeit with a much tougher aesthetic - our Junglist Rave Techno pack took us back to the hey-day of 90s rave culture. Inspired by producers such as Special Request, KiNK and Head High putting a contemporary twist on these classic sounds, Junglist Rave Techno is a racous sample pack that can suit a myriad of production styles - just as the title suggests! Computer Music agreed, “A bonkers, 90s-inspired pile-up, Junglist Rave Techno really does what it says on the tin, taking in everything from old-skool rave and breaks to various colours of drum 'n' bass and proto-UK garage. 9/10.”

“A bonkers, 90s-inspired pile-up, Junglist Rave Techno really does what it says on the tin, taking in everything from old-skool rave and breaks to various colours of drum 'n' bass and proto-UK garage. Tempos range from 127-150bpm, and at the heart of it are 25 mini construction kits (oddly called 'drum loops'), riotously varied in their genre coverage but visually cohesive. The accompanying basses, pads, turntable FX, synths (including TB-303 riffs) and percussion loops are equally compelling, and their one-shots and sampler patches seal the deal.”
Computer Music Magazine Verdict: 9/10
Electro of the classic Detroit variety is having a real resurgence in 2018 and so our Detroit Electro sample pack has been in serious demand. Unsurprising when you consider the huge number of drum breaks, analogue arpeggios, funky basslines and vocoder vocals it contains! DJ Mag gave it their Sample Tank seal of approval, “Let’s not forget that electro was born out of the digital revolution as analogue started to lose its cool, so the guys have got it bang on. We’re glad that UNDRGRND Sounds are keeping it real with the sounds in the pack.”

After the success of our Lo-Fi House sample pack, we thought we’d create a deeper second edition of nostalgic house samples taking influence from the likes of Mall Grab, DJ Seinfeld and DJ Boring in Lo-Fi Deep House. Think tape saturated loops, jazz-inflected melodies and hazy resampled synths for the Soundcloud generation! Computer Music give it the thumbs up saying, “basslines are distinctly old-school in style; the synths infused with dirt and wonkiness; and the vocals perfectly ear-catching… Retro yet relevant.”

"1.5GB of gritty deep house loops and shots, put together using a host of vintage synths, drum machines, outboard and tape decks. The 40 stemmed drum loops (160 files) and basslines are distinctly old-school in style; the synths infused with dirt and wonkiness; and the vocals perfectly ear-catching. The full-mix loops and their super-grungy cassette loop counterparts make for fun sample-fodder, while the 'sampled tape' loops constitute a grab bag of inspirational elements. Retro yet relevant."
Computer Music Magazine Verdict: 8/10
It’s back to the 80s with our latest Ableton racks collection, Retro Racks. Loaded with classic synth sounds, there’s 100+ multisample instruments to explore for that authentic 80s sound. With clever macro controls for sound shaping with Ableton’s native FX and bundled MIDI and loop content, it’s never been easier to get an authentic analogue sound in the box.
